      Position: BSA AML EDD Analyst IV | Division: Enterprise Risk Mgmt

      Work Days: Monday - Friday | Hours of Operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm

      Purpose of the Position:

      The EDD Analyst IV is responsible for thoroughly investigating and documenting various degrees of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) alerts as assigned and, when necessary, preparing cases for Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR). Responsible for identifying, maintaining, and updating the high-risk customer list as well as performing initial and ongoing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of High-Risk Customers. Ensures initial Customer Due Diligence (CDD) is satisfactorily performed for all high-risk customers and work with frontline business partners to ensure deficiencies are remedied. The EDD Analyst IV possesses extensive knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/fraud and may be called upon to assist with complex cases and escalated situations. They will stay up to date on laws and regulations relating to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as well as attend annual training sessions. The BSA/AML Analyst IV will respond to BSA/AML/EDD/HRC inquiries from various lines of business as well as law enforcement agencies. Assists with special projects, assignments, and tasks, as needed.

      Key Accountabilities:

      • Performs initial and ongoing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) as assigned.
      • Manages daily EDD cases with accuracy and within assigned timeframe.
      • Responsible for identifying High-Risk Customer (HRC) lists, updating, and maintaining accurate reports relating to High-Risk Customers and the associated EDD results.
      • Escalates cases when appropriate with attached evidence documenting investigation efforts.
      • Prepares cases for SAR filings when suspicious activity is suspected.
      • Maintains current knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to BSA/AML.
      • Gathers data and metrics on HRCs and EDD related activity in support of BSA AML Risk Assessments, Board reporting, and BSA Committee reporting.
      • Assists with the development, update and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to EDD.
      • Participates in training cross-functional teams engaged in high-risk banking activities and onboarding of high-risk customers.
      • Knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC/Fraud regulations.
      • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to gather, organize, and interpret data.
      • Ability to formulate independent preliminary conclusions.
      • Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software packages such as Microsoft Office.
      • Strong attention to detail with an investigative approach.
      • Ability to exercise good judgement when assessing risk.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to bank policy and procedures.
      • Demonstrates strong communication skills to include written, verbal, and interpersonal skills when communicating with others.
      • Ability to use sound judgment and handles difficult situations with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
      • Ability to manage time and adhere to strict deadlines.
      • Demonstrates leadership skills and competencies.


      Work Experience Requirements:

      • Four or more years of general banking experience with a minimum two years in BSA/Fraud investigations.
      • Strong knowledge of bank administration, lending, operations, and products/services.
      • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to instruct others, train personnel, write reports, and speak clearly.

      Education Requirements:

      • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
      • Professional certification (CAMS, CGSS, CAFP or similar) preferred, or willing to obtain within year of being in role.

      Other Qualifications:

      • Type 30 wpm accurately.
      • PC/ Strong Microsoft Office skills.
      • Experience with AML/fraud software, such as FCRM, required.

      Other Requirements:

      • Experience with Nautilus document imaging software a plus.
      • Business Intelligence experience with MicroStrategy/Cognos or similar a plus.
