      Position Overview:

      To facilitate the day-to-day function of the BSA/AML Compliance Department and ensure that SECU and the institutions we service remain compliant with all current Bank Secrecy Act requirements.

      Responsibilities:

      • 40% - Conduct preliminary research and early investigations when called upon. This may include creating alerts and/or cases to be escalated to second-level investigations as need. Review suspicious activity monitoring (SAM) alerts generated by the Financial Crime Risk Manager (FCRM) application and escalate to second-level investigations as needed.
      • 20% - Assist in reviewing and prioritizing potentially suspicious incidents referred to the BSA/AML team from SECU branches, lines of businesses (LOBs), Fraud, and the rest of the Credit Union.
      • 10% - Assist reviewing FinCEN 314(a) screening alerts as needed.
      • 10% - Review and update BSA/AML procedures as needed.
      • 10% - Assist affiliated credit unions with their BSA processing needs.
      • 10% - Assist in preparing for regulatory examinations.

      Qualifications

      Required Education:

      HS Diploma or GED

      Desired Education:

      Associates Degree

      Required Relevant Experience:

      2 years

      Desired Relevant Experience:

      3 years

      Required Knowlege, Abilities, Skills:

      • Two years of related working experience in a highly regulated financial institution and/or industry.
      • Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Office, MARGO Teller/Platform, etc.).
      • Analytical research skills are imperative. Must have good organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Highest level of integrity and objectivity to preserve independence. Strictest level of confidentiality must be adhered to.
      • Must have professional phone etiquette, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and remain flexible to changing department demands.
      • Dedication to SECU philosophy and work ethic.

      Desired Knowlege, Abilities, Skills:

      • Two to five years of work experience in a highly regulated financial industry with at least one to two years of experience in BSA/AML or comparable experience.
      • Possess or obtain a industry related certification such as CAMS certification within 12 to 18 months of obtaining the position.

      Special Position Requirements:

      • Sitting for prolonged periods
      • Computer for prolonged periods
