      About The Role

      As a CBRE Building Engineer (Water Treatment Operator), you will focus on the operation of the Acid Waste Neutralizer (AWN) system. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and involves providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

      Essential Duties And Responsibilities

      • Clean tanks and filter beds, using backwashing (reverse flow of water)
      • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment, using hand- and power tools
      • Test water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter
      • Dump chemicals such as polymer into tanks to coagulate impurities and reduce acidity
      • Maintain equipment and plant areas through painting, weeding, gardening, repairing machinery, and replacing parts
      • Record data such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure
      • Inspect records, observe conditions, and make calculations to assess plant effectiveness
      • Predict maintenance and facility needs to ensure continuous operation and explain processes and data to supervisors, auditors, and regulatory personnel
      • Understand advanced processes and the impact of feed water quality on production and water quality
      • Operate, monitor, and maintain AWT processes like membrane systems and advanced oxidation
      • Ensure permit compliance and prepare regulatory reports
      • Ensure safety procedures and team safety meetings are completed to maintain a safe work environment

      What You'll Do

      Control treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for industrial use, including:

      • Operating electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate raw water flow and chemical injection for disinfection and clarification
      • Using agitators, valves, and pumps to treat water and monitor controls such as SCADA HMI for flow rates, pressure, and water distribution

      What You'll Need

      Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

      • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant experience
      • Experience and education may be combined as an alternative to a diploma

      Certificates and/or Licenses

      Preferred certifications in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Refrigeration, process controls, or related fields, including CFC Certification.

      Other Skills and Abilities

      • Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb, and lift 50 lbs or more
      • Problem-solving skills with understanding of procedures and standards
      • Technical judgment and organizational skills
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
