      Job Description
      The Building Services Associate II is an integral position in the building services series. This position requires the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment and is responsible for performing custodial and maintenance duties inside and outside of the facility. This position will be supervising inmates.

      Essential Duties
      • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning restrooms
      • Emptying trash
      • Laundering linens and uniforms
      • Removing surplus equipment and furnishings
      • Maintaining the exterior grounds
      • Cleaning equipment and supplies
      • Supervising and training inmates to include prioritizing and assigning work, and ensuring procedures are followed
      • Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment
      • Making recommendations for inmate transfers
      Other Job Requirements/Information
      • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
      • This job requires a public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories, criminal histories, and fingerprinting.
      • This job may require 24 hour on-call rotation, overtime, or working weekends, holidays, 10 hour, 12 hour and rotating shifts.
      Grade
      The grade for this position is A13(1).

      Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

      Minimum Qualifications
      • Completion of coursework up through 8th grade
      • Two years of directly related experience
        • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
      • Valid driver's license
      • CPR certificate (to be obtained within 90 days of employment)
      • First Aid certificate(to be obtained within 90 days of employment)
      • State Inmate Supervisor Certificate(to be obtained within 90 days of employment)
      Preferred Qualification
      • High school diploma or GED
