      Description:

      Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC) is seeking a Transportation Specialist / Bus Driver for its Marian Oakland in Farmington Hills, MI and Villa Marie in Livonia, MI. Both locations are members of Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC), one of the nation’s largest, multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems, with over 40 communities in multiple states.       Driver

      • Assist with transportation of residents in a company vehicle to and from appointments, shopping, etc.
      • Provide and maintain the daily appointment log to be used by resident when requesting transportation.
      • Provide and maintain weekly sign up sheets for regularly scheduled runs (i.e., grocery store, malls, etc.).
      • Coordinate van schedule by reviewing individual appointments on a daily basis, scheduling departure with residents.
      • Incorporate weekly runs into daily scheduled runs.
      • Coordinates information related to van schedule on an ongoing basis throughout the day with resident, facility staff, office staff, medical offices, etc.
      • Advises supervisor and nursing staff of residents who exhibit difficulty in handling transportation responsibilities.
      • Accept full responsibility for physical welfare of residents while utilizing van services.
      • Maintains a monthly transportation schedule with Activity Directors to provide transportation to various community functions.
      • Provide assistance to those residents with limited physical abilities (i.e., help into van, fold up walkers and wheelchairs, and load into van).
      • Responsible for preventative maintenance, refueling, and maintain overall cleanliness of the van on routine basis.
      • Maintains a log of van mileage on a daily basis.
      • Maintains a record of van usage, resident location, and individual destination.
      • Assist supervisor in planning, reviewing, and evaluating ways for improving the transportation system.
      • Coordinate appointment and transportation utilizing outside services as appropriate (wheelchair vans, ambulance, public transportation, etc.)

      Requirements:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Must possess a current, active chauffeurs driver's license with an excellent driving record. A CDL may be required for large vans in accordance with state requirements.
