      Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

      Pay Grade: 1

      No of Days: 185

      Position Function/Purpose

      The supervision of students while they are passengers on the school bus. The enforcement of school policies and regulations regarding bus regulations.

      Major Responsibilities

      1. Assist driver in maintaining student management.
      2. Demonstrate the ability to perform duties as assigned by the Director or his designee.
      3. Answers responsibility for the care of bus and related equipment.
      4. Maintains a positive relationship with students while providing great customer service.
      5. Assist driver to execute scheduled route plans.
      6. Follows policy and procedures related to absence from duty.
      7. Demonstrates punctuality in job performance
      8. Assist in safely loading and unloading students daily and performing emergency evacuation drills
      9. Assist driver in DOT and Zonal inspections.
      10. Ability to write bus conducts reports.
      11. Assist in the assignment of seats for students and oversee the student rosters.
      12. Assist driver in servicing an up keep of buses and performing exit checks
      13. In-service Training- will need to obtain a minimum of 65.5 hours per school year.
      14. Collect blue cards for student count twice a year.
      15. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation

      Qualification Requirements

      1. The ability to read and write English
      2. Minor computer skills

      Physical Demands

      1. Lifting (would be heavy)
      2. Sitting continuously
      3. Depth perception
      4. Ability to distinguish basic colors
      5. Ability to hear
      6. Ability to climb in vehicle

      1. Two way radio
      2. Bus lifts (special Education)
      3. Computer
      4. Handheld zonal
      5. 247 Camera

      1. inside and outside
      2. constant noise
      3. Working around moving vehicles
      4. Fuels and oils
