The Amazon Currency Converter analytics team, part of the APP Global Data Science team, is looking for a Business Analyst to support product development and business operation.

      As a BA, you will be building complex business intelligence applications using a variety of analytics tools. You should have deep expertise in working with large complex datasets, writing complex SQLs, deriving insights from data, performance tuning, bringing data from disparate data stores, programmatically identifying patterns, developing visualizations and writing documents. You should have excellent business acumen and communication skills to be able to work with stakeholders to define business requirements and develop business metrics. You will provide guidance and support for Project Managers and Engineers on data-related interests and concerns.

      From technology perspective, you will have opportunities to (and will be asked to) get exposure to the modern cloud-based data technologies. The team is empowered to select the right technology based on customer needs and you will have the full set of AWS services in your toolbox.


      Key job responsibilities

      Key Responsibilities:
      - Design and implement data warehouse / business intelligence solutions. Take ownership of critical reports and dashboards.
      - Develop and manage ETL pipelines to source and transform data from various commercial, sales and operational systems and create data models for analytics and reporting.
      - Perform deep data analysis, document findings and insights, and communicate to business stakeholders.
      - Empower technical and non-technical internal customers to self-serve data pull and data analysis needs.
      - Be the expert on the data used and generated by the team's products. Act as Subject Matter Expert when it comes to data questions.
      - Work with Product Managers, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to support their analytics requirements.

      We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

      Seattle, WA, USA- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
      - Bachelor's degree or equivalent
      - Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
      - Experience with Excel
      - Experience with SQL
      - Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
      - Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight- Proven capability in statistical analysis (e.g., ability to conduct analyses using regression, modeling, forecasting approaches, and related tools).

      Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
