      Job Summary

      The purpose of the Business Analyst is to assist with the identification, investigation, documentation, User Acceptance Testing, Project Management, and implementation of process optimisation changes within Accounting Control.

      Job Description

      Key Accountabilities

      Accountability: Business Analysis

      • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to system users who request changes for all systems in use in the department. Support their understanding of the dependencies and interfaces between the systems and help them identify and use existing functionality as far as possible before pursuing new development.
      • Continuously assess the efficiency of systems and processes in place in the department and make detailed recommendations to business process owners and product managers on how to improve, what the savings would be and possible implementation approaches.
      • Develop and implement tools to improve processes within the department.
      • Work closely with FC Tech Enablement and change teams on the use of new technologies/systems within the department.
      • Analyze the impact of proposed changes on processes, systems, people, methods and controls, and advise stakeholders of the identified impact and proposed solutions for conflicts or risk issues.
      • Support key AC technology activities associated with the implementation of SAP Hana.
      • Participate in testing and document any failures or issues identified. Ensure that all the issues identified by all the testers are adequately documented, prioritised and scheduled for correction.

      Accountability: Project Management

      • Complete all required project documentation including Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Technical Specifications, Functional Specifications and Project Status Reports.
      • Develop and monitor deliverables and project milestones. Update and provide feedback including RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status on deliverables against target dates to the steering committee and project sponsor.
      • With input from all impacted stakeholders, compile risk and issue logs for the projects and ensure that issues are adequately addressed or escalated.
      • Monitor whether identified critical success factors have been achieved and if intended benefits have been realized.
      • Hand over the project into Business As Usual (BAU) and ensure that the correct business process or system owners take accountability for the continuous implementation.

      • Build constructive relationships with key role players to have a clear understanding of their business needs.
      • Understand the impact of the changes and inform business of any risks.
      • Provide regular and timely feedback to stakeholders.
      • Resolve stakeholder dissatisfaction/issues.

      Education and Experience

      • B Degree (NQF level 7 and above)
      • 3-5 years of business analyst experience, preferably on financial systems
      • 3-5 years of business analyst experience, on process automation and optimisation
      • SAP, SQL, VBA, Python, PowerApps and JIRA experience

      Education

      Bachelors Degree and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
