      About the role

      We’re looking for a Business Analyst, OPL, to join our growing team!

      As a Business Analyst on the Commercial and Specialty Lines Operations and Planning team, you will collaborate with program colleagues and business stakeholders across Canada to deliver solutions.

      Relying on your keen eye for detail and business acumen, you will make an impact on the organization by eliciting requirements from business stakeholders that meet the needs of our users.

      Workplace: Any of our West, Ontario, Quebec or Atlantic offices


      What you’ll do here:

      • Obtain requirements from business units using techniques such as interview and work sessions.
      • Analyze information obtained from various sources, detail the high-level information and provide users with recommendations to their problems.
      • Document requirements obtained from the business community using defined templates.
      • Act as an intermediary between IT, users and managers from different hierarchical levels.
      • Ensure the link between the business units, the technology teams and the support team.
      • Facilitate working sessions with experts from different fields.
      • Responsible for improving productivity and reducing risks and high costs through effective analysis.
      • Identify the need for change to assess and communicate their impact.
      • Support the planning, tracking and management of small projects or project phases.
      • Support project Change Management activities, including implementation efforts and transition issues to ensure business risks are identified and solutions are recommended.


      What you bring to the table:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
      • Experience in business analysis, project activities, data analysis, Commercial P&C and/or Specialty Lines underwriting required
      • Highly developed analytical skills facilitating problem solving.
      • Demonstrated ability to cope with change effectively.
      • Have initiative and is autonomous; able to work effectively with little supervision.
      • Skills for time and priority management, works well under pressure and tight deadlines
      • You can work on multiple projects and quickly adjust in a rapid changing environment.
      • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)- able to explain complex issues to colleagues, stakeholders, and management alike.
      • Knowledge of the Agile Methodology and Scrum framework (asset).
      • Knowledge of Commercial P&C and/or Specialty Lines (asset).
      • Experience with operational change management (asset).
      • PMP, CAPM, CBAP, CCBA and/or CIP certifications (asset).
      • Experience with Visio and workflow diagramming (asset).
      • [Bilingual (French and English)] Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country (asset).
