What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and analyze current workflows for Leasehold Excise Tax (LET) and monthly excise tax filings
- Design and implement automated solutions for tax data extraction, reconciliation, and calculation
- Document reporting frequencies and formats for Department of Revenue (DOR) submissions
- Develop automation scripts and conduct end-to-end testing with historical and current data
- Provide training to internal staff on system usage and troubleshooting techniques
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, PowerBi, and automation tools
- Experience with complex accounting systems, including general ledger and accounts payable
- Knowledge of Washington State taxes and broad-based accounting principles
- Ability to analyze interrelationships and dependencies between system tables and modules
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Alteryx, Power Automate, and Python for automation tasks
- Familiarity with excise tax analysis and reporting requirements
