      Job Description
      Come and join the Asset Management and Business Analytics team. We are looking for creative individuals who want to build Avista’s analytical and Asset Management Capabilities . This is an opportunity to take on new challenges and work cross-functionally to drive change and solve business problems using the power of data.

      Performs professional, technical, and analytical work in support of business unit or enterprise-wide Company projects and programs. Duties are related to defining business needs, understanding current-state environments, and helping to champion change initiatives. Business Analysts apply knowledge of Company program areas and supportive information and data to define and implement solutions to meet varying customer needs as well as analyze business processes and workflows with the objective of finding out how they can be improved. Duties include facilitating discussions to elicit information required to develop requirements; gathering and using data to research, analyze, design, test and evolve solutions; and assisting and leading as needed through change to future-state environments.

      Business Analyst I
      • AA degree or two years’ relevant course work in Information Systems, Business Administration, Science, Math, or related field. BA/BS degree preferred.
      • 2+ years’ relevant experience.
      • Understanding of utility business and operations preferred.
      • General knowledge of a variety of end-user tools and applications, such as CC&B, Maximo, Cognos, Excel, or GL Wand.
      • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
      • Ability to logically analyze problems of limited complexity, analyze data, and reach logical conclusions.
      • Ability to create basic queries within a domain.
      Business Analyst II
      • BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Science, Math, or related field.
      • 3+ years’ relevant experience.
      • Understanding of utility business and operations preferred. Related project management and business analysis experience preferred.
      • General knowledge of a variety of end-user tools and applications, such as CC&B, Maximo, Cognos, MS Office, GL Wand, SQL, Tableau, or advanced Excel.
      • KSAs of BA I AND ability to create moderately complex queries within a domain. Ability to perceive and define cause-and-effect relationships in business processes and systems.
      • Skill in understanding the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
      • Demonstrated skill in the use of analytical tools and data analysis methods.
      Business Analyst III
      • BA/BS in Information Systems, Business Administration, Science, Math, or related field.
      • 6+ years’ relevant experience.
      • Related project management, business analysis experience, and knowledge of utility business and operations required.
      • Working knowledge of a variety of end-user tools and applications, such as CC&B, Maximo, Cognos, MS Office, GL Wand, SQL, Tableau, advanced Excel, ARC GIS, SCADA, Visual Studio, Visio, Adobe Pro, Project, TFS or Pi.
      • KSAs of BA II AND ability to develop level-appropriate procedures. Ability to create complex queries within a domain.
      • Skill in researching, writing, and presenting complex analysis.
      • Demonstrated ability at conducting and analyzing complex analysis and research and communicating results to a broad variety of audiences.
      Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

      Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with an additional day determined by the employee and manager.

      BA I: Starting Range: $27.67 - $35.56 per hour, Full Range: $27.67 - $43.45 per hour, Non-Exempt, ML 6

      BA II: Starting Range: $74,610.72 - $96,621, Full Range: $74,611 - $118,631, Exempt, ML 8

      BA III: Starting Range: $84,939 - $110,421, Full Range: $84,939 - $135,903, Exempt, ML 9
