What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead stakeholder workshops to define business needs, data requirements, and integration specifications
- Analyze large healthcare datasets to assess structure, relationships, and data quality
- Define and document functional and technical specifications for data interfaces and transformations
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS interoperability rules, and other regulatory standards
- Mentor junior analysts and represent the employer at industry events
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Public Health, Information Systems, or related field
- 7–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare, focusing on interoperability or health data engineering
- Deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR, and X12 EDI
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and profiling
- Experience with integration tools and healthcare data domains
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with payer-provider interoperability use cases
- Familiarity with national health data initiatives such as TEFCA and USCDI
- Background in clinical workflows and health IT systems
- Exposure to cloud platforms and healthcare data storage frameworks
- Familiarity with big data frameworks or advanced ETL/ELT processes
