We are now looking for two driven and curious university students with an interest in business, innovation, and technology that want to join us for an approximate six-month internship at 40-60% this spring, with flexibility depending on your university exam periods.

The team

The Data & Insights team’s mission is to make Storytel a more data-driven company. The team is responsible globally for driving the expansion of our reporting systems and structures, preparing and delivering various analyses, reviews and deep dives, prioritizing and steering new data projects and budgets, as well as spreading data and insights across the organization in multiple forums. The team works cross-functionally with teams such as our local regions and markets, Product & Tech, Marketing, Content, Finance, and more.

About the role

By joining us as an intern in the Data & Insights team, you will get great insight into Storytel as a company, learn about our strategies and operations across the organization, and get to work hands-on with tasks and projects related to data and analysis of real importance to Storytel. Your responsibilities may for example include conducting relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analysis related to different aspects of our business, identifying areas of improvement and devising related recommendations, creating and presenting various material to internal stakeholders, and creating dashboards to track important metrics.

We are looking for one more business analysis-focused intern and one more data analysis-focused intern - some tasks may overlap, others will be more specialized. Concrete examples of projects for the business analyst intern include competitor benchmarking and trend analysis through desktop research, analyzing and contextualizing commercial KPI movements in our core markets using our internal data platform Looker, or calculating a business case to determine the commercial impact of a new product. Concrete examples of projects for the data analysis-focused intern may include conducting in-depth analysis to spot key drivers of KPI movements with good understanding of the data pipeline and leveraging SQL to directly query data from the database, creating dashboards for ad-hoc analysis by building new data models and Explores in Looker, or helping commercial teams to check the technical mechanisms of how metrics are created in their dashboards to better understand their business meaning.

As part of our internship program, you will have an experienced mentor in the team with whom you will work closely and learn from, and get to participate in various training, workshops, and social activities to further accelerate your learning and get to know your fellow intern and Storytellers better.

About you

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, preferably in a program related to business, engineering or data analytics
• Available for an approximate six-month internship starting January 2024 in our Stockholm office (flexible on exact start and end date)
• Driven and eager to take both responsibility and initiative
• Curious and passionate about learning new things
• Enjoy working with data and have an analytical mindset
• A flexible and collaborative team player
• Interested in working within an agile and fast-growing tech company with people from all over the world
• Fluent or on a professional level in English, both spoken and written
• Experience working with G Suite and/or Microsoft Office suite, especially Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
• For the business-analysis focused intern: Experience working with Looker is meritorious, but not a requirement
• For the data-analysis focused intern: Good knowledge of SQL and proficiency in data visualization tools - Looker, Tableau etc.
