      SUMMARY

      The Business Banking Underwriter II will analyze and make credit recommendations in accordance with Riverview Bank’s policies and Federal regulations. This position may also approve credit requests within specified approval limits. Business Banking offers a full range of products and services to businesses which include equipment loans, practice finance loans, line of credit, real estate loans and treasury management services. Goal is to create a “best in class” loan origination process in response time and accuracy. Ensure excellent customer service for internal teams and for business customers.

      The salary for this role will be between $77,037 and $112,475. The specific salary offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience.       ESSENTIAL DUTES:

      • Complete cash flow, capital and collateral analysis for credit requests and properly structure business banking loans and lines of credit
      • Perform quality control review of business entity documents for appropriate signing authority and lending authorities
      • Utilize bank systems for loan processing and completion of loan proposal
      • Use developed analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Strong understanding of financial accounting and analysis
      • Knowledge of cash flow management and business credit underwriting
      • Recommend and approve credits within assigned lending limit
      • Complete underwriting, recommend/approve, and communicate credit decisions within approved timeline benchmarks to Relationship Managers
      • Supports Business Banking production by managing a pipeline of credits and prioritizing incoming credit requests and tasks
      • Maintain working knowledge and stay current on lending and other bank policies
      • Other duties as assigned to support line of business and job family
      • Completion of assigned training with satisfactory results.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
      • 4 years’ experience in business banking, commercial lending, portfolio management, underwriting or credit analysis
      • Experience as a business credit underwriter in a credit scoring business lending center, or equivalent experience preferred

      SKILLS

      • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
      • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
      • Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills
      • Demonstrates understanding & knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, & marketing practices
      • Demonstrates strong ability to analyze, review and underwrite business loan applications and related credit products

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate via phone/video, messaging, and email. The employee is required to use computer and office equipment such as a computer, printer, copier, as well as computer software such as Microsoft Office.
