      This position fills a critical need in our Strategy & Optimization Organization, supporting our Group Benefit Claims organization primarily focused on Long Term Disability, Premium Waiver, and Life products as well as Clinical operations. This position will help drive business process and technology focused innovation and continuous improvement solutions, leveraging data & analytics, process discovery, and project management and execution methodology. This role will be accountable for developing a data driven approach to identify, quantify, and maintain a backlog of optimized claims processes and technology solutions. This role will influence the prioritization, design, and execution of the backlog, develop the change management plan, and design and report on post-implementation control plans. The position will collaborate across key partners in Operations, Strategy & Optimization, Underwriting, Sales, IT, Compliance, Legal, Finance, CCRM, and Product to drive the desired business and operations strategic and tactical outcomes.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      •Identify and recommend opportunities to optimize existing processes

      •Assess, quantify, and prioritize opportunities using a data driven / analytical approach

      •Own the development and maintenance of KPIs, Adoption Metrics and Scorecards

      •Follow agile methodology of execution that guides different phases of project lifecycle, from review and analysis (including test & learns), to pilots and full implementation

      •Develop process maps, analyze and quantify solution design options, and recommend future state

      •Develop hypotheses for test & learns that will inform solution design

      •Ensure solution design delivers high quality outcomes and financial performance

      •Develop business cases for change, including cost-benefit analysis and implementation plans

      •Determine the Feature scope, resources, analysis, change management strategy and decision-making framework for the success metrics

      •Review and evaluate operational and/or project dependencies

      •Obtain input and agreement from subject matter experts and stakeholders

      •Assess project and process-level risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans

      •Develop control plans and maintain ownership of financial benefit realization, gaining alignment across business partners and CCRM

      •Participate in the development and implementation of short (1yr.) and long (3-5 yrs.) term strategic direction and business plan

      •Lead and assist with the collection and analysis of Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Business data

      •Assist with collection and analysis of internal and external benchmarking information and third- party assessment data to inform requirements and business decisions

      •Lead and execute continuous improvement of Operational level processes

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      •Experience effectively analyzing data from tools such as ThoughtSpot and Tableau

      •Operations, Process Optimization, or Process Improvement experience required, with demonstrated examples of driving quantifiable business value

      •Strong data acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills

      •Ability to think strategically and demonstrates natural curiosity; thrives in spaces with ambiguity

      •Exceptional relationship management skills; interact effectively at all levels of the organization and across multiple business areas

      •Proven ability to lead change and drive results; ability to manage the integration of new initiatives into organization

      •Readily able to collect and analyze data to prove or disprove a potential hypothesis

      •Prior Agile experience and knowledge of Rally is a plus

      •Strong process management experience, yellow belt, green belt or black belt certifications a plus

      •Strong leadership, teamwork, analytical, influencing skills and effective relationship building competencies

      •Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively influence others

      •Strong time management skills and proven ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a complex environment

      •Experience effectively implementing large-scale organizational change

      •Process redesign experience

      •Demonstrated capability and experience in leading cross-functional teams and projects

      This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Aurora, IL, New York, NY and Danbury, CT) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

      Compensation

      The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $82,560 - $123,840
