      Stifel's Investment Banking division is seeking a Business Development Analyst to support the Financial Sponsors Group. The Financial Sponsors Group is the investment bank's primary liaison with private equity and venture capital firms. The role will focus on supporting senior members of the Financial Sponsors Group by generating buyer lists, tracking banker pitch activity, managing the deal pipeline, and completing CRM data entry and analysis. This is a two-year role with the possibility of transitioning into an investment banking analyst role based on performance.



      What We're Looking For

      • Maintain comprehensive M&A pipeline report covering active deals, pitches and top ideas and ensure relevant information is input into Salesforce.
      • Support bankers by providing reports on portcos, deal history and potential opportunities.
      • Recommend buyers in conjunction with M&A transactions.
      • Coordinate regular team calls and prepare relevant materials.
      • Maintain tracker of round-trips and round-trop success rates.
      • Create sponsor-related material for conferences such as sponsor profiles, attendee bios and portfolio company overviews.
      • Track meeting activity, especially in conjunction with conferences and other events.
      • Interact with support senior calling officers within FSG and Investment Banking.
      • Help prepare internal business planning and monthly business performance reports.


      What You'll Bring

      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Ability to develop relationships with internal and external clients.
      • Proficient with various computer programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, Capital IQ, and Pitchbook.
      • Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Proactive thinker and interested in helping us grow the group and firm.
      • Well-developed skills in organization, prioritization, and time management.
      • Works efficiently to meet deadlines.


      Education & Experience

      • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
      • Minimum Required: 1-3 years experience.


      Licenses & Credentials

      • Minimum Required: None


      Systems & Technology

      • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
      • Prior experience with CRM systems, preference given to Salesforce.
