      A key enabler to THP’s strategic plan is data and analytics. The Performance and Business Intelligence portfolio, in collaboration with stakeholders across THP, will design, architect, govern and deploy high quality data and analytics, to support strategic performance insights and planning to enable THP’s mission of ‘A New Kind of Health Care for a Healthier Community’. Building upon a number of key achievements, this portfolio will continue to advance the development of an enterprise health data strategy and roadmap. The Performance and Business Intelligence portfolio is made up of Decision Support and Case Costing, the Business Performance Office and the Business Intelligence Department. The Clinical Systems and Informatics portfolio is made up of our Epic applications and training teams focusing on the support and continued growth of our Epic platform, our clinical operating platform, the Clinical Enterprise Data Warehouse (Cogito), and Clinical Informatics which supports all clinical applications across THP.

      Reporting into both the VP of Performance and Business and Intelligence and the VP of Clinical Systems and Informatics, the Business Intelligence department’s mandate is to plan, build and implement efficient, sustainable and secure solutions for data infrastructure, data management, data quality, data analytics, reporting and data visualization.

      Position Summary:

      Reporting to Manager of Cogito and Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Developer/ Advisor is responsible for supporting Business Intelligence solutions for Trillium Health Partners. In addition, the BI Advisor will also be responsible for deployment, development and troubleshooting data as well as technical issues THP BI products. A self-motivated individual with exceptional technical, communication and analytical skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service will excel in this position. The Business Intelligence Advisor is responsible for providing the following:

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Maintain and support existing BI Solution in SSRS, Power BI, EPIC, Data warehousing, BI developed data applications
      • Define and document business rules for BI solutions, including data warehouse, reports, dashboard, scorecards and web applications.
      • Identify and review the appropriate technological solutions for various BI data, analyses, reporting, and visualization needs.
      • Maintain Data governance reports, data sets, and other BI solutions.
      • Design and develop dashboards and scorecards and reports using a third-party report writing tool such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau, to display data from a reporting server
      • Build extracts using SQL, enterprise (EPIC,MS )reporting tools against enterprise systems (Clarity, Caboodle, Data warehouse)
      • Document reporting and other BI Data Sets
      • Act as a primary support contact for SSRS administration, security and upgrades
      • Troubleshoot problems, questions, and review peer reports for validity;
      • Identifying advanced analytics opportunities in interactions with clients
      • Test, debug and deployment of all BI solutions and web applications following industry standard SDLC – Software Development Life Cycle procedures
      • Attend weekly meetings with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end user concerns, and upcoming milestones;
      • Identify issues that arise in the application area as well as issues that impact other application teams and work to resolve them;
      • Provide professional internal and client-facing documentation (SRS - System Requirement Specifications, BRD - Business Requirements Documentation etc.) through a combination of wireframes, workflow diagrams and written documentation;
      • Achieve certification in vendor’s application as required

      Knowledge and Experience Required

      • University Degree in Computer Science or Community College Diploma (3-year program)
      • Microsoft BI certification is considered an asset
      • 3 plus years’ experience in SQL Server 2019
      • Ability to lead and/or participate in requirement gathering sessions, document user requirements and translate them into useful solutions;
      • Experience developing indicators and associated documentation;
      • Experience in maintaining proper data governance best practices
      • Applicable knowledge in SQL programming and stored procedures
      • Experience with Visual studio 2012+ and TFS (Team Foundation Server)
      • Applicable knowledge to design and development in Microsoft BI Stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, .Net, SharePoint) and EPIC reporting software
      • Experience troubleshooting and performance tuning SQL scripts, stored procedures and SSRS reports
      • Knowledge of SQL Server security and administration
      • Experience using, developing Data Marts and Models
      • Ability to lead and/or participate in requirement gathering sessions, document user requirements and translate them into useful solutions
      • Knowledge of mobile application design is considered an asset
