      Title : Business Office and Financial Aid Specialist

      Reports to : Controller and Director of Financial Aid

      Job Status : Full Time, Non- Exempt/Hourly (Year Round)

      Salary Range: $57,000 to $67,000 annually, based on experience



      Key Responsibilities:

      The Business Office & Financial Aid Specialist will be a crucial part of both the Business Office and Financial Aid teams. A successful applicant will:

      • Support the accounting team with student billing, accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, and other accounting and Business Office functions .
      • Review, analyze, and evaluate financial aid awards for new and returning ‘Iolani families, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures .
      • Demonstrate comfort in reviewing family finance and tax documents (ie,1040s, W2s, S/C Corp taxes) and the reading of vapid policy, writing and directions .
      • Handle online materials, communications and data entry in multiple databases and systems. Specifically filtering data, importing/exporting, downloading or using communication templates .
      • Communicate effective with families and other internal and external constituencies.
      • Assist with administrative tasks and perform other duties as assigned by the Controller and Director of Financial Aid .


      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as well as background and experience in accounting and financial aid within a school setting or other relevant work experience.
      • Strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
      • Comfortable technology user (intermediate Excel skills preferred, specific knowledge of Veracross, Clarity, Ravenna a plus) .
      • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment, both independently and collaboratively to address possible concerns, suggestions or solutions .
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required .
      • Consistently demonstrate a One Team attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, and organizational and time management skills.


      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to see and hear within normal parameters with or without correction .
      • Full leg and arm mobility (walking, ability to access overhead shelves) .
      • Full range of head and neck movement .
      • Unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrist .
      • Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 15 pounds without difficulty .
      • Ability to sit for extended periods; and ability to stand and/or walk for sustained periods of time.
      • Due to work in close proximity to children, must pass fingerprinting and background clearance checks. TB clearance required.
