      Description

      When you join team Caterpillar as a Business Process Analyst, you will be joining a team responsible for providing guidance on the machine order management process as it adapts and grows into the digital age. The role is expected to adapt as new platforms are launched and provide support for all current machine order management systems and any new Modern Order Management solutions such as MSF (Multi-Source Facility), COO (Commercial Order Optimization), etc. The MOM project includes many smaller projects working to replace our legacy ordering systems with modern interfaces including Orders 360 and SAP. The MSF tool controls order sourcing and enables broader function for products sourced at multiple locations. The position will work closely with business partners in GIS, tax, accounting, account coordinators, transportation, IT, Industries, and Product Groups to learn and advise on the order management process. This skillset of the role will continue to develop as new tools to support SAP deployments for the Modern Order Management digital transformation are underway. The candidate is expected to automate and simplify current manual processes with modern digital tools and participate and assist with leading the developing functional requirements for business systems; tests, training and implementing applications.

      Job Duties

      Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in solution delivery and work processes using new modern digital technology
      Continuously learn and train users across the company on new digital platforms and tools
      Translate order to delivery business requirements into process and IT requirements
      Participate in global cross functional project teams to improve order management processes and systems leveraging new technology, that can span multiple organizations
      Support all machine order management systems
      Support CAT users with daily system issues
      Create and maintain system documentation
      Create and maintain local business support processes
      Participate in the execution of the Product Testing and the System Integration Testing
      Validate and troubleshoot MSF rules
      Provide support for invoice-related queries to dealers and international customers
      Manage and coordinate inter-company invoicing adjustments
      Approve and release orders.
      Setup and maintain legacy system (CMOPs) and Webmocs securities
      Lead issue resolution with globally located Caterpillar IT support teams and external partners
      Work with an international team
      Leverage Lean thinking & methodologies

      Execute customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications.
      Design, prototype, code, and test new or enhanced applications
      Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot problems, as necessary.
      Execute translating client's requirements to functional documentation, participate in technical designs and test plan with coaching and training.

      Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

      • Helps create contingency plans to mitigate impact of disruption on core applications.
      • Identifies key players, criticalities, roles, and responsibilities.
      • Investigates application-related issues with both business and IT professionals.
      • Recommends enhancements for a major application system or related subsystems.
      • Works with core application systems for a major business unit or function.

      Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
      Level Extensive Experience:
      • Enhances the processes and procedures used in the organization's records retention program.
      • Uses detailed knowledge of records retention program to conduct training and/or meetings.
      • Ensures that all exceptions and unusual circumstances are properly captured and reviewed.
      • Coordinates and monitors the various steps involved in a records retention program.
      • Helps others understand how the recording of information impacts other business units.
      • Provides guidance in documenting pertinent information.

      Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
      Level Working Knowledge:
      • Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
      • Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.
      • Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.
      • Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand.
      • Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.

      Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
      Level Extensive Experience:
      • Communicates to clients regarding expectations of all parties.
      • Participates in negotiating the terms of the business relationship.
      • Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes.
      • Maintains productive, long-term relationships with clients or vendors.
      • Creates opportunities to educate support teams on client priorities.
      • Empowers others to establish collaborative, healthy relationships.

      System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
      Level Working Knowledge:
      • Assists with current and planned integration initiatives.
      • Explores major issues and considerations for successful system integration.
      • Plays an active role in local integration efforts.

      Basic Qualifications

      Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, or Marketing
      At least 2 years of experience in roles related to sales, marketing, demand and orders, or business development that includes:

      -Dealer and/or Orders Support

      -Lean Project Participation and/or Management

      -Strong business acumen

      -Excellent planning and organizational skills

      -Advanced Ordering System (CMOPs/SAP) user experience

      -CMOPs DB2 Tables expert.

      -Experience working with digital orders/reporting/automation tools
      Fluent in English

      Top Candidates will also have

      Working knowledge of ordering systems/processes (preferably related to Caterpillar machine prime product, but can include engines, parts or work tools ordering systems)
      General understanding of the Caterpillar organization, products, policies, and procedures
      Strong understanding of Caterpillar’s order management process
      Advanced analytical skills
      Experience with lean principles and practices
      PowerBI project creation/maintenance experience
      Ability to adapt to multiple cultures and countries

      Additional Information

      The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL; but other Caterpillar locations will be considered.

      Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

      This position may require up to 25% travel.
