      Caterpillar’s Strategic Procurement & Planning Division (SPPD) has an open Accountant position. SPPD is an end-to-end, synchronized organization, developing and deploying tools necessary to achieve operational excellence. With a mission to connect the physical and digital worlds of Caterpillar’s supply value chain to maximize our competitive advantage, SPPD is transforming the way we do business.


      In this role, you will be responsible for managing the global direct material forecasting and actual processes as directed by management.

      What You Will Do:
      Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Oversee the global direct material forecasting and closing processes for business resource and procurement teams, delivering insightful analysis and clear results to management.
      • Maintain and enhance the PROcure PPV & Longview tools, ensuring data accuracy and reliability while implementing future improvements to maximize their value.
      • Develop and use automated tools for updating, analyzing, and reporting financial results, including Power BI.
      • Work collaboratively with various groups, such as business resource teams and procurement teams.
      • Support transformation efforts of modernizing procurement cost reporting and forecasting tools.
      • Handle ad hoc projects as they arise, ensuring timely and effective completion.

      What You Have:

      • Education and Experience: 4-year degree, preferably in accounting, finance or business-related degree with 3+ years of relative experience
      • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
      • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
      • Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
      • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

      Top Candidates Will Also Have:

      • Data Analytics and SQL experience
      • Ability to build strategic relationships across functions to help achieve business goals
      • Continuous Improvement Mindset
      • Excellent Communications Skills

      Additional Details:

      • This position can be located in Peoria, IL or Irving, TX.
      • This role requires 5 days a week in the office.
      • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify.
      • Sponsorship is not available.
      • Domestic travel up to 5%.

      Summary Pay Range:

      $95,640.00 - $143,520.00

      Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
