      The Opportunity

        We are seeking a dedicated Business Strategy Analyst (entry level).

        This position can be based in our San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Chesapeake, VA; Charlotte, NC or Tampa, FL offices or Remote. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

        What you'll do:

        Utilizes quantitative and qualitative analysis to make connections between evolving industry trends, market developments, USAA’s strategic direction, regulatory environment, and macroeconomic trends for the business unit. Provides insights and information-based context for key stakeholders in the business unit to effectively manage, influence, and impact line of business strategy.

        • Identifies and refines key business assumptions and hypotheses around line of business strategy factoring in recommendations from analysts.
        • Supports peer analysts in developing the analytical framework and blueprint to answer business questions identified in the business portfolio, product, or member experience.
        • Leverages data-driven problem-solving techniques to manipulate and interpret business results.
        • Assists with translating findings into insights for strategy management and execution.
        • Prepares supporting data and detailed material that helps communicate the significance of the strategic insights to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
        • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

        What you have:

        • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Finance, Economics or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree (6 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
        • 2 years of experience in data and/or analytics or strategy consulting.
        • Foundational knowledge of project management.
        • Demonstrated experience using data analytics to formulate data-driven insights.
        • Experience developing recommendations driven by qualitative/quantitative analysis and market insights.
        • Experience performing data analysis using various data analytics tools (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, Snowflake, SAS, Adobe Analytics).

        What sets you apart:

        • Advanced expertise with Excel, coding in SQL, and developing Tableau visualizations.
        • Expertise using mathematical and statistical techniques and approaches to drive fact-based decision-making.
        • Understanding of Property and Casualty sales funnel concepts and metrics.
        • Understanding of Property and Casualty operational environment (contact center and digital channels).
        • Experience developing and communicating recommendations to improve production results (i.e. additional products, reduced expenses) based on quantitative and qualitative analysis.
        • US military experience through military service or a military spouse / domestic partner.

        What we offer:

        Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $61,110-$116,800.

        Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
