System Administration & Support
Support and lead the administration of Computer -Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) systems ( TransitMaster / OnRoute ) and Audio Log system.
Provide software installations, patching, upgrades and configurations.
Provide first responder for systems troubleshooting and service inquiries.
Provide rotational after-hour support.
Collaboration with IT and Vendors
Collaborate with Information S ervice (IS) personnel and vendor s in database, server administration and issue resolutions .
Data and Interface management
Manage the weekly schedule data merge process, including system setup, interface execution, validation, and troubleshooting .
Analysis and Documentation
Performed data analysis, root cause analysis, and systems auditing
Perform business process (re)design and documentation; business and use case development .
Vendor and Contract Management
Assist with preparation of proposals, RFP process, evaluation and contractor , consultant / vendor selection and management.
Additional duties
Performs other related duties
- Bachelor's degree or higher AND three (3) years of experience
- Associate's degree AND Five (5) years of experience.
- High School Diploma or GED; AND Seven (7) years of experience
Knowledge of administrati ng / managing a large/complex systems/ application .
K nowledge of data integration, interface management, and software lifecycle processes
Knowledge of relatio n al database systems and SQL
Knowledge of CAD/AVL systems
Knowledge of vendor/contract management
Knowledge of workflow analysis and simplification techniques.
Knowledge of Mic rosoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Autom ate, and Power BI)
Knowledge of project management standard processes
Ability to train staff on departmental business systems and processes
Ability to collaborate as the technical liaison to all departmental staff and with other departments, personnel, and enterprise support groups
Ability to be the first line of support and remediation within department for technology inquiries from staff and errors generated by departmental and enterprise systems and technology
Requires the skill to provide basic client services to the public and other agencies within the organization.
Requires tact, courtesy and cooperation in dealings with others where the primary purpose is the exchange of information.

How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) works within the Transit Control Center (TCC) Technology System department, which is a subunit of Transportation Operations within Metro Transit. The BSA will be responsible for the proper administration, maintenance, and execution of our Computer-Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) systems and other technological, reporting, and analysis processes utilized by the department to support the delivery of high-quality public transportation within the Twin Cities region.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Any of the following combinations of experience system administration, management analysis, related analytical or equivalent experience and completed education Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Geographic Information Science or related field
