      Business Systems & Accounting Analyst (Financial Accountant Specialist)– Hybrid - Chesterfield, MO (Greater St. Louis Area)

      How you will make an impact:

      • Managing the end-to-end distributor-related commissions process.
      • Assisting in forecasting commission receivables for planning and cash flow purposes.
      • Becoming an ERP systems and business process expert for the Finance Department.
      • Navigating business systems and using technology to increase operating efficiencies and compliance.
      • Serving as a go-to resource for finance system upgrades, innovation, or troubleshooting.
      • Ensuring accurate expense reporting, payments, and related process optimization.
      • Collaborating with finance, internal business functions, and external support resources.

      The Business Systems & Accounting Analyst is a part of our Finance team and would partner with our Sales and Engineering Services teams. Position level will be dependent on experience.

      What is the Business Systems & Accounting Analyst responsible for?

      This specialized accounting role blends commissions management, expense classification, and systems expertise.

      We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Systems & Accounting Analyst to focus on commissions management, systems expertise, and expense classifications. This role involves becoming a key ERP systems resource, driving efficiency in financial operations, and ensuring commissions and expenses are captured accurately. The position will foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement while performing financial operations. Key responsibilities include

      • Leading the end-to-end process of commission payables while tracking and managing all international commission orders.

      • Ensuring compliance with Emerson’s commission guidelines.

      • Serving as a Finance resource for ERP navigation, troubleshooting, and reporting.

      • Processing employee expense reports to ensure compliance, accuracy and timely payments.

      • Processing and recording expenses with accurate account and department coding.

      • Supporting month-end close activities related to commissions and financial operations.

      • Identifying and recommending process improvements.

      • Providing documentation and support for audits.

      Required Skills, Experience & Abilities:

      • Bachelor's degree.

      • Prior experience utilizing business financial software or accounting system.

      • One or more years of finance and/or accounting experience (which may include Internships).

      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, interpret data and conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate business initiatives and optimize outcomes.

      • Ability to utilize an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to effectively manage and streamline core business operations processes.

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Outlook email, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a business system.

      • Ability to work a hybrid schedule for first 6 months in office Monday through Friday for training then after 6 months will adjust to flexible work schedule in office two days per week with core hours 9am-4pm.

      • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and communicate financial information to non-financial managers.

      • Ability to participate collaboratively in projects.

      • Demonstrated track record of success with analytical and critical thinking.

      • An entrepreneurial and strategic mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

      • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team.

      • Ability to drive for the company with a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass driving record background check.

      • Ability to utilize personal vehicle AND ability to rent a car when requested by supervisor for infrequent work travel.

      Preferred Skills, Experience & Abilities:

      • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.

      • Two or more years of finance and/or accounting experience (which may include Internships).

      • Two or more years of prior experience utilizing an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

      • One or more years of experience working with financial data for cost-benefit analyses to evaluate business initiatives and optimize outcomes.

      • One or more years of experience working with client and/or vendor commission data.

      • Two or more years of prior experience utilizing financial software or accounting system for data entry, reporting and decision making.

      • Two or more years of experience processing accounts payable.

      • One or more years of experience accounting for expense reports.

      • One or more years of experience identifying and recommending process improvements for better efficiency, accuracy and operational decision making.

      • Prior experience utilizing IFS (Industrial & Financial Systems) software.

      • Experience with Vena or other budgeting, planning, and management reporting software.

      • Technically adept with computer applications and motivated to identify and implement improvements in business systems.
