Teach, reinforce, and ensure mastery of academic and technical business content with individual students, small groups, and whole classes.
Implement business curricula and activities aligned to academic standards, CTE frameworks, and industry practices.
Create a classroom environment conducive to active learning, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Integrate a variety of teaching techniques and technology tools, including simulations, case studies, business software, and digital marketing platforms.
Continuously assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and families.
Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student data, plan curriculum, and support student achievement.
Facilitate learning opportunities that connect classroom instruction to real-world business applications.
Support school-wide initiatives related to career and technical education, including guest speakers, community partnerships, and experiential learning.
Maintain accurate records, including attendance, grades, and progress monitoring.
Participate in curriculum development, professional learning, department activities, and school functions.
Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with business trends and instructional strategies.
Complete other duties and professional responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Appropriate Connecticut State Department of Education Certification (010 Business, 7–12).
Relevant teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
Knowledge of business education content areas, including E-Commerce, Business Law, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship.
Proficient in integrating business technologies and digital platforms into instruction.
Demonstrated skills in project-based learning, career readiness instruction, and student-centered teaching practices.
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Grade Levels: 9-12Description:
Stratford Public Schools seeks a dynamic High School Business Teacher who will engage students in authentic, real-world learning experiences across a variety of business-related courses. The Business Teacher will facilitate hands-on, project-based learning aligned to CTE pathways, Connecticut Business Education Frameworks, and industry best practices.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a team environment to promote innovative thinking, 21st-century skills, and career readiness while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
