- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal University procedures and external regulations (Federal, State and Local). Responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention of management.
- Provides excellent customer service and value to internal/external constituents by supporting departmental and individual goal achievement, effective communication, and process improvement.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensuring staff follows customer service guidelines.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures of the fitness facilities.
- Occasionally answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
- Demonstrates respect for all team members by seeking input on processes and problem solving, communicating key information, collaborative teamwork and supporting a culture of diversity.
- Assist in supervising student workers, graduate student personnel and other center staff members including hiring, managing, and scheduling. Set clear performance expectations, provide training, and address performance deficiencies.
- Assist in creating an exceptional member experience by maintaining a clean, safe and well-maintained facility including the pool area.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives to enhance member engagement and retention.
- Assist in scheduling and organizing classes, instructors, and facilities to maximize attendance and efficiently use staff time. Ensure adequate staff coverage for all activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards. Stay informed about industry certifications and best practices, ensuring that staff members meet required qualifications.
- Enforce safety procedures and protocols to minimize the risk of injuries and accidents. Ensure that all fitness equipment is in safe, working condition. Ensure that staff members are aware of the location of first-aid kits, AED, and fire suppression equipment. Continuously assess the facility for potential hazards or areas where accidents are more likely to occur, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks.
- Respond to on-site emergencies and train staff on the appropriate actions in case of emergencies, including contacting 911 or other emergency services.
- Acting as back up support for any employee who is absent.

Responsibilities :
The Bustle Up Fitness Assistant Manager of Fitness Programs and Training is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of Bustle Up Fitness’s classes and programs. This includes the development and implementation of fitness programs, as well as the oversight of staff, facilities and equipment in accordance with University policies and industry standards.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Exercise Science, Sports Management, Kinesiology)
-Minimum of (1) one year of experience in fitness center or gym management
-Current AED/CPR CertificationPreferred Qualifications:
-Certified Instructor, Personal Trainer, Health Coach, or Medical Exercise Specialist (ACE, AFA, NASM) or equivalent.Skills and Abilities:

-Ability to persuade and sell fitness center services and programs to support membership revenue sustainment and growth.
-Ability to meet physical demands such as continual standing and walking, and must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality within University policies and external regulations (FERPA, HIPAA)
-Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
-Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
