      POSITION OVERVIEW

      Ascend is currently searching for a Buyer to be located in our downtown Houston office. As a member of the Procurement organization, the Buyer will be responsible for executing the day-to-day procurement activities that support Ascend’s Corporate Services category. This role will focus on managing the sourcing process, issuing purchase orders, resolving supplier issues, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services across departments.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Support the procurement process for Corporate Services, including issuing RFQs, comparing supplier quotes, and processing purchase orders.
      • Manage supplier communications related to order confirmations, delivery updates, and issue resolution.
      • Track and follow up on open orders, deliveries, and contract renewals to ensure timelines are met.
      • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier contact details in the ERP system.
      • Assist with contract reviews and support the preparation of standard procurement documents.
      • Monitor supplier performance and escalate recurring issues to management.
      • Collaborate with departments such as HR, Finance, IT, and Operations to gather specifications and fulfill purchasing requests.
      • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal policies and procedures.

      • Director – Indirect Materials Procurement

      REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

      • BS/BA degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field.
      • 5+ years of experience in tactical procurement or purchasing support roles.
      • Familiarity with contract terms, purchase order systems, and supplier coordination.
      • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
      • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
