      Role Summary:
      The Buyer II role is part of the Purchasing team and may focus on purchasing direct or indirect materials. This role has additional capabilities and performs duties at a higher level than Buyer I.

      Accountable for:

      Buyer I duties:
      • Place daily purchase orders of production materials that will include but is not limited to extruded sheet, bags, and boxes from an approved list of vendors using the ERP and Demand Planning systems.
      • Enter and update vendor promise dates and communicate changes to key internal stakeholders in a timely fashion.
      • Expedite purchase orders (PO's) as necessary.
      • Review and follow up on past due PO's and unconfirmed PO's with assigned suppliers.
      • Provide timely support to all levels of the business, including Production/Scheduling, Sales and Customer Service.
      • Meet with suppliers as needed.
      • Assist and work with coworkers on improvement of specific internal procedures.
      required to maintain system integrity including focus on company-wide communication related to supplier issues.
      • Establish and maintain working relationships with existing and new suppliers that maximize vendor benefits and values to PI.
      • Support purchasing activities related to advancing PI's environmental and sustainable procurement goals.

      • Coordinate returns for non-conforming materials.
      • Update supplier information in the ERP system.
      • Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
      • Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
      • Perform other duties as required.


      Desired Qualifications:
      • High school education or equivalent.
      • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field.
      • Computer literacy and accurate math skills are required for successful job performance.
      • Strong analytical abilities are desired.
