- Responsible for developing commodity sourcing strategies for GME. Commodities include but are not limited to services supporting to corporate administration, construction services and sales, service and marketing.
- Lead sourcing packages for variety of programs in Europe, negotiations with suppliers, execute global/regional budget, and interface with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage all potential commercial issues to ensure supplier continuity.
- Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships to develop creative solutions
- Management and control of all purchasing activities related to contracts including negotiations on price, service levels, terms and conditions.
- Analyze and apply appropriate tools like cost models, benchmarking, competitive sourcing, to arrive at the best sourcing option for the specific GME function.
- Support discussions with stakeholders on decisions based on strategic intent and commercial terms.
- The ability and understanding of entire process, i.e support from Statement Of Work, Shopping Cart creation, through completion of payment (including resolving any payment issues that arise)
- Evaluate performance of suppliers through Strategic Supplier Engagement tools using objective and soft metrics. Establish strong relations with supply base.
- Ensure full compliance to safety regulations, legal requirements, purchasing & accounting policies and procedures.
- Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic. Eagerness to learn, acquire new and develop existing skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to summarize and communicate issues and propose solutions to leadership.
- Team Player. Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet required mutual goals.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Knowledge of analytical tools such as BI, KNIME, etc.
- Experience negotiating global services agreements and local participate agreements.
Job Description
You will be responsible for the development of commodity strategies in alignment with GME objectives that align with global commodity teams overarching strategy for GM as a whole, ensuring GM global purchasing process and requirements are followed. You will lead all sourcing activities, ensuring timely project completion pairing best service delivery and total enterprise cost. You will be required to collaborate with various stakeholders to gather project requirements and gain visibility into all future sourcing activities (pipeline management). Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of analysis, initiative, strategic thinking, and a high level of independent judgment.
