      ABOUT THE COURT
      Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 40 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,500 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 Billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,084 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.

      ABOUT THE POSITION
      Procurement Technicians independently perform purchasing transactions that range from routine to moderately complex in buying highly varied materials, supplies, services and equipment. Incumbents coordinate supply deliveries, and assist in ensuring that suppliers are paid correctly through use of the Court's financial system(s) (e.g. Phoenix SAP). Incumbents are responsible for administering purchaser-responsive, cost effective and high quality purchasing standards and procedures that meet all applicable legal requirements. Incumbents develop analytical and technical skills in preparation for more responsible purchasing assignments.

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
      To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of filing:

      OPTION I:
      High school diploma or GED equivalent -AND- Three (3) years’ of administrative support work experience which includes experience processing purchase orders or preparing procurement requests.

      OPTION II:
      Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in public or business administration, finance, operations management or a closely related field -OR- Possession of a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or similar certification - AND- One (1) years of administrative support work experience which includes experience processing purchase orders or preparing procurement requests.

      Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

      DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION FOR OPTION II: A legible copy of your college diploma -OR- official transcripts with the degree posted from the college or university OR relevant certification must be submitted with application.

      Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
      A valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.


      DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

      The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Operations Management or a related field.
      • Public agency purchasing experience.
      • Knowledge of SAP Phoenix financial system, online eProcurement systems (e.g., Biddingo, BidSync).
      • Knowledge of Judicial Branch Contract Law.
      • Knowledge of the State of California Contracting Manual.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

      EXAMINATION INFORMATION:

      PART I: Qualifying evaluation of education, training and experience based upon submitted application materials and supplemental questionnaire.

      PART II: An online exam, weighted 100%, covering, business communication, customer focus, drive for success, conscientiousness, composure, following instructions, and service professional.
