- Systems Identification and Improvement
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing IT systems to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their operational challenges and identify technology solutions that can improve efficiency.
- Implement process improvements using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- IT Inventory Management
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive IT inventory management system to track all hardware and software assets, including procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Establish processes for regular audits of IT inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial reporting requirements applicable to publicly traded companies.
- Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize purchasing decisions, negotiate vendor contracts, and manage software licenses effectively.
- Cybersecurity and Compliance Management
- Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization’s information assets from emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure all IT systems and processes comply with relevant regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Lead the coordination and management of audit responses for internal and external audit teams, providing strategic oversight to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive submissions. Collaborate closely with IT teams, finance, and audit stakeholders to identify and address control deficiencies, implement remediation plans, and maintain robust documentation of IT controls and processes.
- Conduct regular cybersecurity risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with both U.S. and international regulations.
- Lead incident response planning and execution, ensuring readiness for potential security breaches or data loss incidents.
- Technology Upgrades and Implementations
- Lead the planning and execution of technology upgrades that enhance system performance and scalability to meet business demands.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies that align with organizational goals and improve overall operational efficiency while enhancing security posture.
- Oversee the implementation and integration of Syteline ERP across multiple business units, ensuring that the system meets organizational needs and enhances operational workflows.
- Work with vendors to ensure smooth implementation of new systems, providing training and support to users.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of IT systems, cybersecurity initiatives, and inventory management processes.
- Generate regular reports for executive leadership that assess system performance, inventory status, compliance adherence, and opportunities for further improvements.
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends and inform decision-making regarding IT investments and resource allocation.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment on IT initiatives and address any concerns.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate employees about new systems, processes, cybersecurity awareness, and best practices in IT management.
- Present findings and recommendations to the executive leadership team, providing actionable insights for improved operational efficiency and compliance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of IT leadership experience, with a focus on systems improvement, inventory management, cybersecurity, and compliance in publicly traded environments.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and managing IT assets in a large organization, preferably in the oil and gas or energy sectors.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing systems and processes while ensuring compliance and security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects effectively.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
