      The Impact You’ll Make

      • Enable the Lam Engineering organization with CAD design software and applications to achieve best-in-class outcomes in time-to-market, cost efficiency, product quality, and organizational flexibility and agility.
      • Develop and apply Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories, and research techniques to investigate and solve technical problems.
      • Assess CAD architecture and hardware limitations; plan technical projects related to the design and development of CAD software.
      • Define and select new approaches for implementing CAD software engineering applications, including design specifications and parameters.
      • Develop routines and utility programs to support CAD software upgrades and updates, ensuring CAD software remains current within Lam Engineering.
      • Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for presentation and approval.
      • May specify materials, equipment, and supplies required for project completion, and may evaluate vendor capabilities to deliver required products or services.

      What You’ll Do

      • Work with and support NX end users by resolving issues related to NX operations, modeling, applications, processes, and licensing.
      • Support NX end users in applying Lam’s Best Known Methods (BKMs) and best practices in their design approaches and modeling techniques.
      • Provide advanced support for NX applications and related issues, handling complex incidents escalated from Level 1 support and resolving Level 2/3 issues in collaboration with affected end users. Issue resolution includes:
        • ServiceNow ticket intake and management
        • Problem documentation and tracking in ServiceNow, including detailed notes and resolution process records (e.g., written notes, meeting recordings, transcripts)
        • Direct engagement with end users to resolve issues
        • Ticket closure and confirmation of resolution with end users
      • Collaborate with CAE team members to resolve high-complexity, recurring, or widespread issues.
      • Develop and maintain technical processes and procedures for NX usage, including end-user instructions, training materials, and BKMs.
      • Present and implement new NX features, functions, and capabilities.
      • Serve as an advisor for Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) applications in NX.
      • Liaise with Siemens to address unresolved issues, submit incident reports to Siemens GTAC, and coordinate support as needed.
      • Manage and maintain NX license availability for end users.
      • Perform and support NX upgrades and patch deployments.
      • Support NX-Teamcenter integration, including processes and workflows for data connectivity and management.
      • Present and implement enhancements and new capabilities for NX-Teamcenter integration.
      • Manage electrical and mechanical NX interfaces for routed systems.
      • Maintain knowledge of NX data, file structures, and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
      • Minimal travel required.

      Who We’re Looking For

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with a minimum of 8 years of related work experience in NX MCAD user and/or end-user support; or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
      • Expert in NX MCAD usage and data management.
      • Current knowledge of NX MCAD applications and practices.
      • Experience working with service desk systems.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
      • Knowledge of ECAD tools (Zuken E3.Series and Cadence OrCAD/Allegro).
      • Understanding of ECAD data management systems: ECAD EDM and Zuken DS-E3.
      • Experience with other mechanical CAD tools: CREO, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, AutoCAD.
      • Experience working with ServiceNow or equivalent service platforms.
      • Experience with other MCAD software: CREO, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, AutoCAD.

      Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
