      Join Our Team as a CAISO Settlement Analyst!

      Are you an expert in CAISO market settlements with a keen eye for detail and a passion for financial accuracy? Join our Energy Settlements team as a CAISO Settlement Analyst, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring precise validation, reconciliation, and compliance with market settlements from the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). In this role, you'll leverage your analytical skills, deep market knowledge, and technical expertise to resolve discrepancies, optimize processes, and drive efficiency.

      What You'll Do:

      • Settlement Analysis & Reconciliation – Analyze and validate CAISO settlement statements, identify discrepancies, and initiate dispute resolution when necessary. Conduct shadow settlements to verify market invoices against internal expectations.
      • Data Management & Reporting – Extract, analyze, and interpret settlement data using SQL, Python, or Excel-based models. Develop reports to track trends, financial exposure, and cost allocations while providing strategic insights.
      • Market Compliance & Dispute Resolution – Ensure adherence to CAISO market rules, tariffs, and regulatory requirements. Work cross-functionally with trading, risk, and operations teams to resolve settlement issues and submit disputes.
      • Process Optimization & Automation – Identify areas to enhance settlement processes and automate manual workflows. Support the implementation of automation tools and collaborate with IT to improve efficiency.

      What You Bring:

      • Education – Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
      • Experience – 3-5 years of experience in CAISO settlements, market operations, or energy trading settlements.
      • Technical Skills – Strong knowledge of CAISO settlement processes, market rules, and charge codes. Proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, Power BI, or advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs). Experience with settlement systems like MCG, PCI, or similar tools.
      • Soft Skills – Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders. Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

      Bonus Points For:

      • Experience with other ISOs/RTOs (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, NYISO).
      • Knowledge of FERC regulations, CAISO BPMs, and wholesale energy markets.
      • Exposure to machine learning or automation tools for settlement analysis.
