- Serve as the main contact for CALA logistics solutions, support global logistics operations, assist in cash flow management, and maintain supplier KPIs for performance improvement.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, coordinate with logistic suppliers for efficient shipments, and manage customs clearance in Mexico and other CALA countries as it pertains to avoid penalties for Ciena.
- Implement controls for import/export operations, keep shipment records updated, and participate in supply chain initiatives for operational optimization.
- Coordinate customs clearance to ensure timely delivery to customers in Mexico and other CALA countries.
- Responsible for the proper flow of goods on the inbound operation into Guadalajara.
- Review brokerage billing, schedule last mile deliveries, communicate daily with teams on shipment status, and resolve shipment issues.
- Support intercompany imports/exports, coordinate domestic deliveries, ensure smooth flow of goods into CALA countries.
- Prepare import reports for accounting, manage inventory, approve local carrier billing, maintain PODs, and coordinate the generation of required certificates for import of Ciena products (mainly in Mexico – NOMs).
- Maintain and improve relationship with Ciena partners (Logistics Service Providers, 3PLs, Brokers).

- Must have experience with international logistics, with specific hands-on evidence.
- Practical experience in Mexico and CALA marketplace, preferably Telecommunications/Hi Tech industry.
- Must be experienced in import/export regulations.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills, working knowledge of Oracle.
- Must be able to speak and write in Spanish & English (Portuguese is a plus).
- Strong customer focus – Internal and External.
- Willingness to positively contribute to the overall success of the logistics team and go the extra mile during periods of high demand such as Quarter end or during key project phases.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in the supply chain and logistics arena or business-related area
- 3+ years on supervisory role.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations.
- Experience working with 3PLs.

How You Will Contribute:
Mange the overall Logistics operational business demand for Mexico and other CALA countries as it pertains. There will be a focus on the Import / Export and Reporting requirements as well as a need for operational business excellence and a focus on both internal and external customers. Cover the revenue flow of goods will require interaction with stakeholders at both junior and mid-levels. It will require cross functional awareness and alignment with different internal organizations (Finance and Accounting, Commercial team, Project Managers, PLMs, Order Management).
