      About the role:

      As part of the Camera Hardware Engineering Team, the Camera Test Engineer will own multiple camera module calibrations and test systems. They will use equipment and algorithms to validate sub-component and improve the overall camera module performance for our drones.

      This person will have a good understanding of different aspects of design and testing. They will be comfortable traveling to module integrators in Asia to drive module test development efforts.

      How you'll make an impact:

      • Develop test equipment, algorithms, and methodologies to validate designs and provide significant feedback for design iterations
      • Improve all camera modules for our next-generation drones
      • Work closely with internal camera design, vehicle manufacturing, and module integrator to build the entire suite of camera calibration and performance test capabilities
      • Develop multiple custom cameras to have a significant impact on our future roadmap and across the entire drone industry

      What makes you a good fit:

      • Proficient in Python and/or MATLAB; Python highly preferred
      • Proven understanding of imaging systems and image quality metrics
      • Ability to bring up extensive camera module tester selection including light panels, test charts, and test algorithms
      • Ability to perform comprehensive camera module calibrations and performance characterization (SFR, LSC, color calibration, image sensor noise, Autofocus calibration, testing, etc.) and failure analysis
      • Direct laboratory experience testing optical and camera modules
      • Expertise in lens and illumination system design, testing, and validation
      • Experience in optical design tools such as ZEMAX/CodeV and LightTools

      Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $147,500 - 210,000*.
