      Job summary

      37.5 Hours Per Week

      As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.

      Role will be covering both the Calderdale and Kirklees CAMHS Eating Disorder Team as well as the opportunity to work within the developing ARFID pathway. The successful candidate will offer assessments and interventions appropriate for the needs of the young people within our service. They will have opportunities to develop services for the needs of local populations.

      We offer training in areas where you may feel you needs some development. Supervision will be offered within your professional group as well as supervising other staff and develop their practice. As a band 6 you will have the opportunity to further develop your clinical skills and knowledge by offering care co-ordination and intervention for more complex young people. We are a growing team from a well established and supportive MDT after additional investment into the service.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful candidate will offer Eating Disorder and Mental health assessment and intervention to young people with symptomology of Eating Disorders or ARFID, as well as engaging families to empower them all to support recovery.

      You will also support the wider team by working with the MDT with the young person at the centre. You will offer, as well as receiving robust clinical supervision both from your profession peers and within the wider team. To use outcome measures to ensure that goals are being met and that the young person is moving towards recovery.

      Care planning and risk assessment are important parts of this role, as well as completing goal based outcomes as appropriate for the role. Maintaining a high standard of care and working within the Trusts values.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      The post-holder will:

      Provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health needs;

      Work autonomously and collaboratively within the MDT, providing consultation for other agencies/professionals;

      Work as part of CAMHS first on-call rota.

      Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.

      To provide routine and urgent assessment and interventions to young people with a wide range of emotional and psychological problems who are referred to specialist CAMHS, in keeping with evidence based practice with supervision from a senior clinician within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.

      To support the ongoing process of delivering a comprehensive CAMHS system.

      To provide assessment, interventions, therapy to children, young people with the most severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, including those who are severely mentally ill or at suicidal risk and where appropriate, families as both an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a variety of settings to address need. This will include working with the CAPA model.

      To apply a sound knowledge of safeguarding children and guidelines in clinical work.

      To be committed to a quality approach for patient care.

      The post-holder will demonstrate high levels of concentration and provide sustained effort in assessment of complex family issues.

      To manage own caseload, accessing support and guidance appropriate to individual need.
