- Provide treatment to a caseload of complex cases depending on role within the team.
- Ensure that appropriate systems are in place and in accordance with local policy
- Facilitate the effective assessment, diagnosing, care planning, prescribing and review of children and young people referred to the specialist CAMHS service.
- Link regularly with other agencies to facilitate effective communication between NMP clinics and the MDT Teams to ensure a quality service is maintained
- To be supportive of the multi-professional team and encourage effective team working, implementing and maintaining high professional standards within and outside the team
- Responsible for the supervision and appraisal of staff members of the team

- Professional Qualification in Nursing, Pharmacy or Occupational Therapy
- Non-medical prescriber (V300)
- Evidence of continuous professional development - mentoring qualification
- Evidence of continuous professional development at band 6
- Dual qualified
- Advanced history taking and diagnostics
- Professional experience in the field of Children's mental health or equivalent
- Consolidated years of working at Band 6 in the community.
- Experience of dealing with crisis situations
- substantial experience working as an NMP
- Experience of managing & supervising staff
- Knowledge of current developments and practice
- Knowledge of the principles of Best Value/Clinical Governance
- Knowledge of the principles of current research around Advancing Practice
- Good communicator with competent presentation skills. Able to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of people at all levels
- Able to manage change and respond flexibly to non-routine situations
- Clinically competent at diagnosing and prescribing in field of experience and competent in liaising and referring on to MDT colleagues.
- Able to work independently
- Able to carry out a full Mental and physical health assessment including a physical examination where possible
- Advanced knowledge in interpretation of biomedical investigation
- Ability to maintain quality in own work and of others to do so (KSF 5.2)
- Willingness to travel to different locations to undertake role effectively
- Committed to the continuous development of job -related knowledge and skills
- Willing and able to work flexibly, in terms of the requirements of the role, working hours and place of employment

Job summary
We are looking for a CAMHS Senior Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for theCAMHS Team.
The successful candidates will work in an autonomous role supporting the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of young people in the CAMHS service. There will be good access to supervision and advice from medical and non-medical colleagues to provide a safe professional framework in which to practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to undertake assessments, screening, diagnosis and case holding.
The post holder will be expected to deliver a high-quality innovative service for adolescents using research and good practice guidelines. They will take a lead role in developing a seamless service between community services, in-patient services, and adult mental health services.
