      This posting will have several different assignments listed. All positions will provide zoo guests with fun, inspiring and educational opportunities at the Little Rock Zoo!Camp Guide ( 14.00 - 15.00 per hour) - Please go HERE for the complete job description.
      The camp guides will provide, safe educational experiences and supervision of children ages 6-12 during Zoofari camp season at the Little Rock Zoo.

      This position is responsible for assisting in the administration, coordination, and facilitation of Camp programming for campers ages 6 -12 years during the summer season. This position supports the Education Programs Coordinator, who serves as the Zoofari Camp Supervisor, and 8-12 seasonal camp guides. The Programs Assistant supports the organization of all resources, including materials, classroom spaces, and volunteers, necessary to provide various Camp programming. This position helps the camp team in executing age-appropriate programs, tours, games, creative projects, and collecting data for program evaluation.

      This seasonal position will provide fun, inspiring, and educational opportunities for our guests for a seasonal attraction. Camp Guide and Camp Guide Assistant Qualifications - These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of either one (1) cumulative year experience in teaching (formal or informal), interpretation, or camp facilitation; or two or more years of undergraduate coursework in science, education or a related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

      Commitment for the Camp Guides and Camp Programs Assistant:
      • Work at least four weeks of summer camp (do not have to be consecutive), scheduled Monday-Friday.
      • Attend mandatory training days: April 20, 21, and 27; three day Camp training required for all guides.
      Requirements for Camp Guides:
      • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
      Requirements for Camp Programs Assistant:
      • Minimum 21 years of age.
      • Must hold a valid Arkansas driver’s license
      • At least two years’ experience working in program support and implementation in non-formal settings (camp or zoo/aquarium experience preferred)

      This is a seasonal position that includes 28 hours/ week March-May for camp prep and training and 40 hours/week for 8 weeks during the summer months when camp is in session.
