- Lead & Instruct Summer Camps – Oversee counselors and ensure a safe, structured, and fun camp experience.
- Supervise & Mentor Counselors – Provide guidance, direction, and feedback to camp counselors.
- Coordinate with Leadership – Work with the Youth Program Manager/Camp Facilitator to assess and address camp needs.
- Teach Climbing Skills – Guide campers through age-appropriate climbing techniques based on gym type:
- Full-Service Gym: Top-rope climbing, auto-belay, and bouldering.
- Foster a Positive Camp Culture – Promote teamwork, confidence-building, and active participation.
- Lead games, activities, and curriculum with campers and staff.
- Supervise daily camp operations and ensure staff and campers follow schedules.
- Interact with parents before and after camp, providing feedback on campers’ progress.
- Conduct weekly staff check-ins and feedback meetings with counselors.
- Assist with camp setup and breakdown each day.
- Support operations staff with summer camp gear and answering camp questions.
- Comfortable working in a loud, high-energy environment.
- Capable of speaking in front of large groups and providing clear instruction.
- Physically able to climb, balance, kneel, pull, push, and grasp objects as needed.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable spending long periods standing and walking on uneven surfaces.
- $16.00/hour DOE
- Free Momentum membership while employed and extended through the New Year upon completion of the season.

- At least 2 years of climbing experience with a strong enthusiasm for climbing.
- Experience in coaching, programming, or facilitation.
- Ability to supervise and mentor a team while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with large groups of kids in various age groups (4-6, 7-12, 12-16).
- Ability to enforce safe climbing practices and recognize unsafe conditions.
- Previous experience in customer service.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Description
Momentum is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Camp Head Facilitators to lead and oversee our seasonal summer camp programs. Head Facilitators play a key leadership role, supervising camp Facilitators and guiding campers through an unforgettable climbing experience. This role requires strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for working with kids in a fun, high-energy environment.
The Head Facilitator will work closely with the Youth Program Manager (YPM) and/or Summer Camp Assistant Manager (SCAM) to ensure smooth daily operations, implement camp curriculum, and create a positive, engaging atmosphere for both campers and staff.
Position Type: Seasonal, Part-Time or Full-Time (20-40 hrs/week)
Minimum Age Requirement: 16+
Compensation: Starting at $16.00/hour
Season Dates: Late May – Mid-August
