QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of approved techniques and methods of youth supervision; District rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior; and correct English usage, grammar and punctuation.
Must possess the skill to read and write at a level necessary to perform the required duties; understand and carry out verbal and written instructions; relate well with students; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment in dealing with students; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties. Applicant must possess the physical ability and willingness to break up student altercations whenever necessary. Perform related duties as required.
Must provide proof of completion of SB 1626 school security guard training with application.
Three years of responsible experience involving a considerable amount of youth work are required, preferably in a high school setting .
MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER’S LICENSE. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A COPY OF DRIVING RECORD ISSUED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
A PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENT AND CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Under supervision assists in the supervision of students on school grounds, parking lot, and areas adjacent to the school to ensure proper conduct and maximum class attendance. This job exercises responsibility for enforcing school rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior, order and conduct.
STARTING SALARY: $3,177.64 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 9.4 (to begin August 13, 2025)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.)
