Organize, plan, and facilitate all aspects of the Student Ministry, including, but not limited to, facilitating discipleship groups and building Christ-centered mentoring relationships with young men, Bible studies, weekly gatherings, retreats, and Outreach trips.
Develop a comprehensive discipleship plan ensuring that curriculum and gatherings incorporate elements of Biblical discipleship, worship, community, and Outreach.
Serve as the lead member of the teaching team for Sunday morning gatherings and weekly Bible studies.
Collaborate with the Student Ministry staff and volunteers to create a sustainable and comprehensive teaching team for biblical applications in all areas of Student Ministry.
Recruit Student Ministry volunteers, training and resourcing them to lead in the area of girls’ or boys’ ministry, including mentoring, groups, and gatherings.
Build Christ-centered discipling relationships with students.
Engage in relational ministry activities with students each week.
Be in regular attendance on Sunday mornings in Student Ministry for worship, teaching, and student programming.
Be in regular attendance for Wednesday night gatherings for Junior High and High School.
Communicate with parents and church members concerning the content of the curriculum, ministry needs, and personal discipleship through email, calls, meetings, etc.
Be a resource for parents, families, schools, and other organizations for the spiritual formation, health, and well-being of students.
Oversee and manage the Student Ministry budget.
Complete monthly expense reports and PEX transactions as needed.
Ensure compliance with the Bayou City Child Protection Policy. Run background checks and training for volunteers in order to proactively protect children and adolescents.
Network with other similar church staff in an organized setting to gain and share resources and information.
Collaborate with other Bayou City Student Pastors and staff for vision and resources across all campuses.
Network with local organizations that serve students in vulnerable situations to understand the needs that can be addressed by Bayou City for this age group
Attend regular and special Bayou City staff meetings.
Perform other tasks as requested by their supervisor or needed to support the larger goals of the Student Ministry and Bayou City Fellowship.

Teachable and willingness to grow and mature.
Distinct calling and passion for reaching this generation of students.
Experience teaching the Scriptures consistently and accurately with a focus on application to real life.
Experience recruiting and training adult volunteers for the work of the ministry.
Ability to work is complex structures of people with flexibility and adaptability.
Leadership skills and traits (conflict resolution, critical thinking, high emotional IQ, relationship building, and ability to equip and empower others) that are exercised in love and humility.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to actively listen to accomplish an agreed upon goal.
Ability to identify and solve problems with patience and resourcefulness.
Able to demonstrate a continuing education of doctrine, theology, and general biblical knowledge through education and experience.
Preferred minimum 5 years experience working in ministry with students full time.
Computer skills (web, documents, spreadsheets, presentations). Willingness to learn and develop internal systems skills and communications processes.
A mature and thorough understanding of doctrine that remains in line with the Bayou City Fellowship Doctrinal Statement.
Be in agreement with the Bayou City Fellowship statement of faith.
About the Campus Student Pastor:
This is a campus-specific role leading middle school and high school students to become deeply devoted followers of Jesus who serve their community and world. This is accomplished by making disciples of Jesus Christ, while carrying out the mission and vision of Bayou City Fellowship. This pastor will work collaboratively with campus leadership while exercising the initiative and creativity to lead this significant ministry with the Student Ministry Staff to the church body at the campus. The effectiveness of the leader in this role will be measured by the extent to which students are growing in their love, devotion, and commitment to Jesus and displaying evidence of this in their lives of love and service. This pastor will report to the Lead Campus Pastor.
