      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Establish procedures for identifying all malignancies diagnosed or treated at the institution
      - Abstract core information from patient medical records according to established policies and procedures
      - Organize and maintain a computerized data system that meets the highest standards of registry operation
      - Assemble and disseminate collected data; prepare routine and special statistical reports summarizing cancer experience
      - Coordinate activities of the registry with those of the Cancer Conferences and Cancer Committee

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate's degree in a health-related field or certificate in cancer information management
      - Minimum of one year of current experience in a comparable job classification within the last three years
      - Current Certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or ability to obtain credential within 18 months of hire
      - Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and cancer disease processes
      - Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations, maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Bachelor’s Degree
      - Experience with EPIC electronic health record & METRIQ cancer registry database
      - Prior participation in American College of Surgeon (ACOS) survey processes
      - 1-2 years of prior registry experience in an approved cancer program
      - RHIT/RHIA certification preferred
