      Overview

Canon Canada In-School Video Creator Course Instructor – Part Time/Occasional

We’re looking for a talented creator with a passion for all things video to join our Canon Canada In-School Video Creator Course Instructor Team!

You will be joining Canon to support students from grade 7 -12 in the Hamilton and Greater Toronto Area to unlock their creativity & build valuable skills through an engaging, nurturing in person Introduction to Video Course. Through the delivery of our 8 weeks, in person course, you will support young creatives to plan, produce, and edit a 1.5 - minute video!

We are looking to have you join our team!

      Responsibilities

      What You’ll Be Doing

      • Instruct small groups of 10 - 15 students through an 8 week course experience, where you will be on-site at a school in Hamilton / the GTA. For every group of 10-15 students you are paired with, you will deliver 1 x 1 hour workshop per week. You will be paired with a minimum of 2 groups of students per school, so you’ll be teaching a minimum of 2 x 2 hr workshops per week.
      • Lead presentations to introduce campers to the basics of using their cameras to capture video footage (Canon to provide a class set of cameras for each course). We provide the curriculum and presentation slides you’ll need to deliver the program, so you don’t have to worry about designing any materials.
      • Provide students with feedback and coaching as they pull together the components of their video, to support their ongoing improvement throughout the course.
      • For your first in-school teaching gig, we will pair you with one of our experienced instructors so you can have a supported soft-landing into the classroom teaching environment.
