      Job summary

      The capacity team are responsible for Patient Flow, placing the right patients in the right place at the right time and Supporting in actioning targets relating to the ED 4 hour wait to uphold patient quality.

      The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient, effective and comprehensive clerical support to the Capacity Team to assist in facilitating patient flow.

      To communicate effectively with all departments regarding updates onspecific patients, supporting patient flow.

      To update and maintain relevant speadsheets, recording accurate information pertaining to referrals and breaches

      The post holder will record accurate information in relation to actual andpotential bed availability and communicate this information to all key contacts internally and externally when appropriate.

      Main duties of the job

      Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300.       Maintain and update MDT databases to ensure the timely and accuratecompletion of data on multiple systems relating to bed utilisation and otherrequired data reports for daily and weekly information and managerialreports.

      To escalate any delays/ concerns to relevant managers/ escalation leads.

      To book Ambulances in keeping with DOH guidelines. To track andmonitor ambulances for discharges. Liaise and escalate to WMAS asappropriate.

      Liaise with alternative patient transport agencies as appropriate.

      To support in the implementation of the trust escalation policy.

      Communicate in a manner that placates potential complaints andconcerns

      Liaise and communicate with CCG and Social Care Partners asappropriate and necessary
