- Conduct fundamental credit and equity analysis without any bias to industry or sector
- Conduct financial statement analysis and detailed financial modeling
- Prepare investment memos containing written description of borrower business operations, industry dynamics, financial performance, etc.
- Conduct ongoing portfolio monitoring to identify value creation opportunities and assist with internal and external reporting
- Perform due diligence and present new investment ideas
- Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to develop investment theses
- Participate in restructuring processes when applicable
- Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives
- Two to three years of experience working in finance with a strong preference for a background in investment banking, financial structuring and / or restructuring or special situations investing
- Ability to identify and work through complex situations to derive investment ideas that meet the return hurdles of the platform
- Strong negotiating skills and ability to converse effectively in a high pressure environment
- Commitment to task and an attention to detail
- Good personal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Travel required
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, etc.

Title: Capital Solutions Senior Associate
Location: Charlotte, NC / New York, NY
The Capital Solutions team is seeking an investment associate who will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating a broad range of complex investment opportunities, including market dislocation, specialty asset finance, opportunistic lending, structured / preferred equity and distressed credit. The position will report to a senior investment professional on the Capital Solutions team.
