QTS Data Centers, a Blackstone company, is seeking a Capital Strategy Intern to work from our Ashburn, VA, Duluth, GA, or Irving, TX campus. Quality Technology Services (QTS) is a leading provider of data center solutions across a diverse footprint spanning more than 7 million square feet of QTS Mega Data Centers throughout North America and Europe.
The Capital Strategy Intern will gain hands on experience assisting in the finance, accounting, and procurement activities on a given project(s). The intern will interact daily with multiple stakeholders at all levels within QTS, as well as external contractors and consultants. The intern should have both written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication. Intern opportunities will be catered to the candidates interests and backgrounds and the intern will be assigned to assist teams within QTS that align with these opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.
• Assist Capital Development team with day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Development, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams on strategic capital initiatives.
• Support new development capital project requests and approvals in monthly committee meetings with senior executive team.
• Assist with maintenance and creation of new stabilized cost projections for upcoming greenfield construction and incremental site builds.
• Work with strategic procurement team on equipment procurement and delivery process.
• Work with the internal development team to enhance project management processes and protocols
• Develop new processes and documentation to continually improve the organization’s approach to capital project management.
• Obtain a high level of knowledge about QTS services, systems, methods of delivery, implementation and support processes, and Service Level Agreements as well as apply industry-leading practices to improve overall business performance.• Travel up to 25% as required during internship program.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business management (commerce), economics, mathematics, accounting, or finance OR any bachelor’s degree with demonstrated coursework in/understanding of business concepts and strategic thinking.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving
• Experience in data analysis utilizing Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, basic reporting capabilities).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in Tableau or Power BI.
• Continued involvement in community outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment, other community involvement.)

• Superior people skills – able to work effectively with multiple business groups including project managers, vendors, network engineering, and with all levels of the organization from senior executives to support staff
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines
