      The External Relations Department at UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business serves as the hub for all outward-facing activities, fostering connections with the business community, alumni, and beyond. It oversees critical units, including the Career Center, which supports students' professional development and job outcomes; the Leadership Development Institute (LDI), delivering tailored leadership programs; the Centers of Excellence, bridging academia and industry through specialized research and outreach; and the Alumni Experience Center, curating lifelong engagement opportunities for graduates. This department drives strategic partnerships, enhances the school's visibility, and strengthens its impact in the global business landscape.




      Your Role on the Team

      Coordinates and implements an industry alliance program. This position is responsible for building relationships and creating opportunities for The Paul Merage School of Business to partner with the business community. Develops account strategies and leads teams to ensure their successful execution. A critical responsibility is the sourcing and scoping of experiential learning projects for graduate programs, most notably the Master of Science in Business Analytics , MBA and Master of Finance programs.

      Note: This one-year Contract position is part-time (min. 50%) to full-time; flexible schedule varies.

      The expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,400- $103,250 (Annual).


      What It Takes to be Successful

      Required:

      • Broad knowledge about University and industry research pertaining to specific industry alliance program.
      • Strong communication skills including active listening and critical thinking. Highly developed political acumen skills and social perceptiveness. Skilled business development tactics to persuade and influence.
      • Ability to work with a diverse group at all levels of the organization including faculty, staff, students and industry partners. Strong sense of ethical conduct that will inspire confidence and motivation.
      • Productive in work volume, speed, quality and consistency. Ability to see projects through to completion on deadline and satisfy industry partner and University goals.
      • Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite. Effectively uses software applications specific to industry alliance.
      • Ability to break down complex concepts and communicate them in an understandable way.
      • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
      • Minimum 15 years of professional-level experience


      Preferred:

      • Master's degree


      Special Conditions:

      • Client visits, local travel
      • Hybrid position with some onsite work expected each week: 20% office work and 80% external client site visits. Part-time to full-time; flexible depending on work load.
