      Salary Band – $70,800 - $76,442 p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver

      Mō te tūranga | About the role

      We have an outstanding fixed term opportunity for a Trainee Cardiac Physiologist available, within our Cardiac Catheter Lab at Dunedin Hospital.

      The department carries out a full range of tests including, ECG’s, Holter monitoring, Exercise Stress Testing, Pacemaker & ICD follow-up and Echocardiography. Our department also works closely with the wider team based in Southland Hospital.

      Our ideal candidates will have excellent attention to detail and great communication skills with team members and patients alike. The ability to cope with busy workloads and flexibility is a must. To be considered for the programme you will be a recent graduate with a science degree and a willingness to undertake further study.

      The two - year study programme will enable you to qualify as a Cardiac Physiologist and register with the Cardiac Physiologist Registration Board of New Zealand. As part of your formal study, you will complete the Certification of Cardiac Physiologists (CCP) practical training program , as well as completing the Post Grad Diploma in Medical Technology qualification. On the job training is provided by fully trained staff and incorporates competency, experience, and task-based components. You may also be required to undertake some work in Southland Hospital so the ability to travel is required.

      This is a fixed term position to support the training programme.

      To be considered for the programme you will be a recent graduate with a science degree and a willingness to undertake further study.

      You will need to gain registration (or meet registration requirements) with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board and have the ability to gain an APC.

      Utu whānui |Salary range

      This role belongs to the APEX/Te Whatu Ora Clinical Physiology National Collective Agreement. Appointment Scale is between Step 1 ($70,842 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 2 ($76,442 p.a. pro-rata) until qualified.
