Cardiac Physiologist – Trainee

Salary Band – $53,000 - $58,000 p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver + car park

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Trainee Cardiac Physiologist available, within our Diagnostic Testing Department in Southland Hospital.
The department carries out a full range of tests including, ECG’s, Holter monitoring, Exercise Stress Testing, Pacemaker & ICD follow-up and Echocardiography. Our department also works closely with the wider team based in Dunedin Hospital.
Our ideal candidates will have excellent attention to detail and great communication skills with team members and patients alike. The ability to cope with busy workloads and flexibility is a must. To be considered for the programme you will be a recent graduate with a science degree and a willingness to undertake further study.
The three-year study programme will enable you to qualify as a Cardiac Physiologist and register with the Cardiac Physiologist Registration Board of New Zealand. As part of your formal study, you will complete the Certification of Cardiac Physiologists (CCP) practical training program , as well as completing the Post Grad Diploma in Medical Technology qualification. On the job training is provided by fully trained staff and incorporates competency, experience, and task-based components. You will also be required to undertake some block course work in Dunedin Hospital (Catheter Lab) so the ability to travel is required.

You will need to gain registration (or meet registration requirements) with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board and have the ability to gain an APC.

Utu whānui |Salary range
This role belongs to the APEX/DHB Clinical Physiology National Collective Agreement (Salary Scale Step 1 $55,225 pro-rata – Step 8 $80,292 pro-rata). Appointment Scale is between Step 1 ($53,335 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 2 ($58,002 p.a. pro-rata) until qualified.
