      Cardiac Sonographer Trainee Position Summary

      The Cardiac Sonographer Trainee will participate in a 14-month full-time training program. The Trainee trains side-by-side with a certified Cardiac Sonographer. The trainee participates in daily procedures and didactic lectures. Upon completion of the program a certification in American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)/Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required.

      Cardiac Sonographer Trainee Position Requirements

      • Associate degree is required, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in an Allied Health degree from an accredited program. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
      • Academic prerequisites: College Algebra (a higher-level math course will also satisfy this requirement)- Anatomy and Physiology with lab I and II – Medical Terminology- Two semesters of Physics which includes a lab. Prerequisite coursework may not be more than 10 years.
      • At least one year healthcare experience is required, including a four-hour, documented shadow experience with an echo sonographer.

      Cardiac Sonographer Trainee Benefits
