      Main duties of the job

      As a Cardiographer, you will supporting the outpatient and inpatient diagnostic cardiac service by performing ECGs (adult and paediatric), fitting ambulatory monitoring (BP, Lifecard and Zio-patch) and in Holter tape analysis.

      Job responsibilities

      • To perform adult and paediatric ECGs accurately with a high level of quality, ensuring that all patients are treated with compassion and dignity.
      • To perform ECGs in outpatients clinics, departmental and ward environments
      • To recognise normal and abnormal ECG records and report any abnormal findings to the appropriate clinical member of staff.
      • To fit ambulatory monitors, ensuring that clear information is provided to the patient at the time to ensure an optimal recording.
      • To download and store ambulatory monitors onto the appropriate computer programme, ensuring data is stored appropriately.
      • To support the Physiologists in performing their role by assisting in various investigations.
      • General care and maintenance of departmental equipment and work areas.
      • To perform basic life support.

      • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
      • Previous ILS or BLS training

      • Experience as independent practitioner in cardiology investigations
      • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
